Chicks with Sticks(tm) Ladies Polo Tournament and luncheon for the Urban Farm will take place Saturday, August 11, 2007 and Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Denver Polo Club just southwest of Littleton Colorado.
The tournament is celebrating its seventh year and attracts local, regional and international women polo players who come together to compete for the USPA Women's Challenge Cup and for a terrific cause. The Urban Farm at Stapleton is a non profit 501C3 that is home to more than 100 animals and serves more than 2500 metro urban children each year. The goal of The Urban Farm is to help preserve Colorado 's agricultural and rural heritage, along with bringing to life, farm values for city kids. |
The action on the field is thrilling as the players compete for the championship; the sideline activities are just as spectacular with champagne, wine and a splendid luncheon buffet and silent auction. Spectators also can compete during the Mad Hatter Half Time Divot Stomp parade where the guests with the best hats win prizes.
Chicks with Sticks(tm) was founded by Suzy Koehler, an avid horsewoman and polo player and is an event to help raise funds in support of community programs that give kids who might not otherwise have a chance to experience horses. Churchill said it best: There is something about the outside of horse that's good for the inside of a person."
